Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2

[edit] Background

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 is the sequel to the widely successful Tony Hawk's Pro Skater/Tony Hawk's Skateboarding. It had a few improvements to the game: The game featured new tricks. The player can now noseslide and tailslide, triggered by pressing right or left on the d-pad. Manuals and nose manuals were introduced, allowing the player to combo in and out of tricks. The bluntslide, nosebluntslide, feeble and overcrook grinds were also introduced.  The game was the first in the series to inclide the Create-a-Skater function, in which the player can model his/her own skater from different elements, such as face shape, clothing and name. The Create-a-Park mode was included, allowing players to construct their own dream skatepark from a number of obstacles and tools. There was also an updated menu system.

[edit] History

This is the second Tony Hawk game to be released, the second in the "Pro Skater" series, and is often abbreviated to THPS2. It was released and ported to many different platforms, much more than that of the first game. Originally released to the Playstation, it made it's way onto the Nintendo 64, the Sega Dreamcast, Windows, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, Windows Mobile, Mac OS, and later found it's way onto the Xbox, marketed only in North America as Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2X.
